Bayern Munich’s attempt to sign Liverpool star Sadio Mane could be under threat with reports that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the Senegalese forward.

Mane has reportedly told Liverpool that he intends to leave the club this summer in search of a new challenge with Bayern his most likely destination.

Should Liverpool move on and build without Salah and Mane if they want out?

German champions Bayern have their old wantaway star in Polish striker Robert Lewandowski and believe Mane could help fill the void left by the 33-year-old.

The Liverpool forward has enjoyed another fine season in a red shirt, scoring 16 Premier Leagues goals. It is the sixth time in six season he has hit double figures for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

However, with his contract up at the end of next season and Liverpool reportedly unwilling to match his wage demands, Mane looks set to depart this summer.

Bayern are thought to be willing to pay around £30million plus add-ons for the Senegalese star but they could now face competition from French champions PSG.

According to German media outlet BILD (via CaughtOffside), PSG have entered the race to sign the 30-year-old as a possible replacement for Brazilian forward Neymar.

The reports suggest that PSG could use their financial power to outbid Bayern as well as offering a huge wage increase to Mane in the attempt to bring him to Ligue 1.

He could be brought in to replace Neymar, who has been linked with a departure from Paris this summer following the extension of Kylian Mbappe’s contract with the club.

Meanwhile, another Liverpool man who could be out of the door this summer, Nathaniel Phillips, has admitted he wants to be in the Premier League next season.

Speaking to Liverpool Echo, Phillips said: “I think we’ll talk in pre-season. The season’s just ended, it’s summer and everyone is on a break. There’s not really been any discussions so far.

“I’ve switched off from football at the moment, other than watching and supporting the lads at Liverpool, so we’ll see what happens and what is said. But up until now, there haven’t been any conversations.

“My main aspiration is to be playing regular football at the highest level possible. That’s always been the case, that’s never changed.

“I’d like to think that would be the Premier League after my time last season with Liverpool and now with Bournemouth getting promoted.

“I feel like I’m fully capable of playing Premier League football and every player wants to play in the Premier League.

“That’s my aspiration, to be playing regular football in the Premier League.”
