Chelsea Women continue their quest for European glory as they take on Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the Champions League this afternoon.

Emma Hayes’ side knocked out one of the most succesful sides in women’s football in recent years, Wolfsburg, to reach this stage and now face another trip to Germany to meet Bayern in today’s first leg.

The Blues have never been beyond the semi-finals, losing at this stage in both 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Bayern Munich vs Chelsea Women is scheduled for a 4pm BST kick-off today, Sunday April 25, 2021.

The game will be played behind closed doors at FC Bayern Campus Platz 1 because of current coronavirus restrictions.

Team news

Chelsea are sweating on the fitness of captain Magdalena Eriksson, who missed the top of the table WSL clash with Manchester City in midweek, while Maren Mjelde is out.

For Bayern, first-choice goalkeeper Laura Benkarth remains out so youngster Maria Grohs will continue to deputise.

The Blues have been in terrific form and will no doubt be bouyed by the midweek draw against Man City which kept them in charge of the WSL title race.
