Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic will reportedly turn his ‘full attention’ to securing a deal for Liverpool’s Sadio Mane this week.
The Bundesliga giants have made two bids for the Senegal forward. Both offers have been turned down for being nowhere near the Reds’ valuation of the player, which is believed to be at least £40m.
Bayern initially offered £21m plus £4m extra in add-ons before coming back with a second package worth £23.5m plus £6.5m in add-ons. The fresh add-ons leant on Munich ‘winning the Champions League, and Mane lifting the Ballon d’Or, in each of the next three seasons’.
Bayern are not giving up and are preparing another offer, according to Bild (via Sport Witness).
Despite Mane being out of contract next summer, the Germans are eager to get a deal done this summer and there is a genuine belief their third offer will be successful.
Transfer chief, Salihamidzic, will look to get a deal done ‘quickly’ by turning his ‘full attention’ to Mane this week.
The Bavarians will present €35m plus €5m in potential bonuses and are optimistic this offer will be accepted, with the report adding that it ‘should lead to an agreement’.
The 30-year-old has already agreed a three-year contract with the German champions, according to reports.
Meanwhile, Senegal manager Aliou Cisse has suggested that Mane would fit in at Bayern Munich.
“It’s not just Sadio, I’m going to talk about it for all those players who are in a situation where they have to find a club, it’s complicated. Why? Because it is all this problem that awaits us for the World Cup which is in November,” Cisse said.
“And I tell my boys to try to settle the contract problems so that when their respective championships resume, they will have already found a base. I heard about Sadio at Bayern.
“Bayern is intensity, pressure football with a German coach. Sadio played in Salzburg in Austria which is a border country, and that means he is not going into unknown territory. For me, the club where he will feel the best is Bayern.”
