Ben Rothwell Off the Card, UFC Dublin Gets New Co-Main Event

Ben Rothwell Injured, Out of UFC 203 Co-Main Event

UFC Dublin has a new co-main event after a Stipe Miocic injury nixed his heavyweight contenders bout with Ben Rothwell.

UFC officials on Wednesday announced that they were unable to secure a suitable replacement to face Rothwell, so that bout has been pulled from the card altogether. In its place, the lightweight bout between Norman Parke and Reza Madadi was chosen to take the main support slot.

UFC Fight Night 76 will continue as an 11-bout event.

Fighting out of Northern Ireland, Parke (20-4-1) should be a popular choice for the Dublin fans. He's also hungry for a win, as Parke is coming off of back-to-back losses for the first time in his career, dropping split decisions to both Francisco Trinaldo and Gleison Tibau.

Madadi (13-3), on the other hand, is coming off of an impressive submission victory over Michael Johnson in his last trip to the Octagon, and is looking to rebuild the momentum that stalled in his loss to Cristiano Marcello in the fight prior to Johnson.

UFC Fight Night 76 takes place on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 3Arena in Dublin. It features home-country favorite Joseph Duffy facing Dustin Poirier in the night's main event on UFC Fight Pass.
