Arsenal are in advanced talks with Brighton over a deal for defender Ben White that could eventually be worth £50million.

The Gunners had an opening bid of around £40m for White rejected earlier this month, but they have continued discussions since.

Negotiations are progressing well and there is a belief among all parties that former Leeds loanee White will head to north London this summer.

A deal for the 23-year-old, who was a surprise inclusion in England’s squad for Euro 2020, is likely to be in the region of £50m.

The centre-back has previously been scouted by both Manchester United and Tottenham, however Arsenal have been frontrunners all summer after firming up their interest.

Arsenal are expecting a busy summer transfer window and on Thursday centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos was loaned back to Stuttgart.

The German club have the option to make the deal permanent next summer and are expected to do so.
