Arsenal are ready to press ahead with a move for Brighton defender Ben White now that Euro 2020 has finished.

The Gunners have made White one of their top targets this summer and are in talks with Brighton over a deal that could be worth around £50million.

England manager Gareth Southgate made it clear he did not want transfer business taking place during Euro 2020 and players agreed to put talks over their futures on hold.

Arsenal are now ready to press ahead with a move for White and they remain in negotiations with Brighton.

The 23-year-old centre-back is keen on a move to north London and personal terms are not expected to be an issue.

While Arsenal are trying to wrap up a deal for White, fellow centre-back William Saliba is set to join Marseille on loan for the upcoming season and is in France to undergo a medical.

It will be a straight loan, with no option-to-buy clause included, and the deal should be completed in the next 48 hours or so after the 20-year-old earmarked Marseille as his preferred destination.

Arsenal are also close to completing a deal for Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga too. They have agreed a fee of around £15m plus add-ons and personal terms with the 21-year-old.

The Belgian, however, must quarantine before he can complete his transfer and join the squad.

Left-back Nuno Tavares had the same situation before joining last week, but he is now fully integrated into the team.

Tavares has travelled with the squad to Scotland this week as part of Arsenal’s pre-season preparations and could feature against Hibernian on Tuesday night. The Gunners will then play Rangers on Saturday before returning home.
