Bengals, Tyler Boyd agreed to 4-year, $43 million extension
Three days before Cincinnati Bengals veterans report for training camp, the team and its up-and-coming receiver agreed to a new contract.
Bengals extend Tyler Boyd
Via multiple reports, the Bengals and receiver Tyler Boyd have agreed to a four-year, $43 million extension.
Update (3:45 p.m. ET): The Bengals have confirmed the extension. Rookie head coach Zac Taylor said this in a statement: “We think very highly of Tyler and are thrilled to get him in the fold for the next few years. After I joined the team in February, while reviewing video of all the team’s games last year, he was one of the first players that stood out to me as being a hard worker and improving steadily throughout the season. I have also gotten to know him as a person since I arrived, and it was obvious to me early on that it would be a good thing for us to seal him up for the foreseeable future.”
The 55th overall pick in 2016, Boyd was headed into the fourth and final year of his rookie contract but is now contracted with Cincinnati until 2023.
The 6-foot-2 Boyd is coming off a breakout season: he had a team-high 76 catches for 1,028 yards and seven touchdowns in 14 games. Of those 76 receptions, 25 were first-down conversions on third- or fourth-down.

Green is entering the final year of the four-year, $60 million contract he signed in 2015.
He played in just nine games last season due to a torn toe ligament, but was still able to record 46 catches for 694 yards and six touchdowns. Because of the injury, it was the first time in his career that Green was not chosen for the Pro Bowl; he was a Pro Bowler in his first seven seasons.
