Bernardo Silva was asked to compare the rivalry between Manchester City and Liverpool to the newer feud with Arsenal after the two sides drew 2-2 on Sunday.

The Manchester City midfielder explained the difference in the competitive landscape between the two clubs, using Liverpool's recent success to aim a pointed jibe at Arsenal. He was left furious with the Gunners after the game, which was embroiled in controversy and clashes.

"There was only one team that came to play football," Silva blasted. "The other came to play to the limits of what was possible to do and allowed by the referee, unfortunately. But at the end we got a draw, the best we could get considering the context of the last moments of the match.

"We're not happy as we wanted the three points, but personally I'm happy with the way we came to play and faced the game. I'm glad we always enter the pitch to try to win every match."

Silva was also asked his thoughts about the game and his team's recent rivalries. And he used Liverpool's success compared to Arsenal to illustrate his point, explaining how they get a different type of game against the Reds.

"Why is it different? I don't know. Maybe because Liverpool has already won a championship, Arsenal has not yet," Silva declared.

"Liverpool also won a Champions League at the time, Arsenal has not yet. Now, from the point of view, Liverpool always played against us face to face, to win the games," he continued. "The games against Arsenal have not been as our games against Liverpool were, and still are. So, maybe it's a different rivalry, yes."

The City midfielder was in the spotlight during Sunday’s intense clash through his involvement in a moment that led to a red card for Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard. Trossard's second yellow card was a foul on Silva, which forced Arsenal to play the remainder of the match with just ten men.

The match was a back-and-forth goal-scoring affair. City's Erling Haaland opened the scoring in the ninth minute. Arsenal responded in the 22nd minute with a curling shot from Riccardo Calafiori, leveling the score. Just before halftime, Gabriel Magalhaes put Arsenal ahead with a well-placed strike during stoppage time. Despite Arsenal’s efforts to hold the lead, City equalized after John Stones stunned the crowd at Etihad Stadium with a 98th-minute goal.

Stones' goal saw the game ended in a 2-2 draw. Silva said that while the team wasn't happy with the result, they were satisfied with how they approached the match. "We're not happy, we want the three points, but personally, knowing that we can always do better, I think we're satisfied with the way we came here to play," he said.

The midfielder also expressed frustration with two incidents with the referee’s that he thought directly influenced the outcome. One of his main grievances revolved around Rodri's injury after being sent to the ground twice within ten minutes.

He was upset about the sequence that led to Arsenal's first goal, saying that the referee called for the attention of Kyle Walker, but the gameplay continued. Walker paid attention to the referee and became out of position, which led to the goal. Silva also voiced his frustrations with the second goal given, too. "The second goal we suffered is a goal that we usually block in our net, which the referee allows," he said.

"I think what bothers me the most is our meetings with the UEFA because when the season starts, they always tell us that they will control these situations and prevent them from happening."
