Bernie Kosar: ‘No disrespect’ with ALS remark about Dwight Clark

Clark, who announced Sunday he has Lou Gehrig’s disease, was with the Browns from 1999-2002. Cleveland was 21-43 during those four seasons.

FormerBrownsquarterback Bernie Kosar said Wednesday he meant "no disrespect" to 49ers great and former Cleveland director of football operations Dwight Clark when he made a joke on Cleveland radio aboutClark's ALS diagnosis.

"We had a bad weekend with Gale Sayers being diagnosed [with dementia] ... Dwight Clark with ALS," Kosar said on WKNR-AM, on Wednesday. "I could make a joke about [Clark's]struggles in picking players when he was here. It almost makes me wonder if maybe it started earlier."
