Germany's Magdalena Neuner competes to win in the 7.5 km women's sprint competition at the Biathlon World Cup in the eastern German ski resort of Oberhof January 6, 2012. Neuer won the competition, Darya Domracheva of Belarus placed second and Olga Zaitse

The German extended her lead at the top of the standings to 15 points after coming home in 22:27.6 minutes, two days after handing the Russian team the relay crown with a disastrous final shoot.

Neuner’s 26th World Cup win leaves Belarussian Darya Domracheva second on 381 in the overall standings despite her second-place finish.

The 2010 Olympic bronze medallist finished 37.2 seconds further back but ahead of Russian Olga Zaitseva, the beneficiary of Neuner’s poor relay anchor on Wednesday, who was 42.4 off the pace.

Finland’s Kaisa Mäkäräinen, third in the overall standings, was fourth after finishing 54.0 behind Neuner, while her German team-mate Andrea Henkel rounded off the top five.
