Big Brother USA will premiere a little later than usual this summer.

Now entering its 25th season, with host Julie Chen Moonves on board again, the grandfather of reality television officially returns to CBS on August 2 as opposed to the first week of July.

Entertainment Weekly suggests that this decision from the network could be one of self-preservation in light of the ongoing Writers' Guild of America strike.
