According to reports, Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma has ‘completed his medical’ ahead of his move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs have already been busy in the transfer market this summer. They have brought in Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster from Inter Milan and Southampton respectively on free transfers.

Bissouma is set to become their third signing ahead of the 2022/23 campaign. He has played 112 times for Brighton in the Premier League over the past four seasons.

The ludicrous 2022/23 schedule could make it the season of the Happy Squad Player

His contract at the Seagulls expires in 2023 and Spurs have moved quickly to sign him. Sky Sports are now reporting that the player has ‘completed a medical’.

It is being reported that Tottenham will pay an initial fee of £25m and that this could rise to £35m with add-ons.

Sky Sports add that Tottenham ‘still want as many as three more players, possibly more’ after signing Bissouma. A right wing-back, a left-footed centre-back and a versatile forward are their ‘priorities’.

Their wing-back signing looks likely to be Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence. Spurs have reportedly ‘agreed a £20m deal’ to sign the defender.

Meanwhile, Jose Enrique has backed Liverpool to sign Christian Eriksen this summer despite links to Manchester United and Tottenham.

Eriksen grabbed four assists and a goal in the second half of the season at Brentford and impressed enough to earn interest from numerous clubs.

Liverpool have been linked with a number of central midfielders this summer and now their former left-back Enrique reckons they should pounce for Eriksen.

“Another interesting player that could be our solution to our midfield,” Enrique said on his Instagram story. “And spending nothing because he is a free agent.

“He is a short-term solution but then we can wait for Bellingham next season – He will play if he deserves to play like everyone else. Eriksen is a top player and I believe he can compete for a starting spot in our XI. The season is very long.

“He is that kind of player, like Thiago, but maybe a little bit more offensive. But Thiago is our magician.”

Speaking on Tuesday, Eriksen said: “I have different offers and options, which we are considering, and then we make a decision.

“I would love to play Champions League football again. I know how much fun it is, but it isn’t essential for me.”
