BJ Penn Will Not Be Charged in Sexual Assault Case
BJ Penn has had a difficult time making it back to the Octagon, but he'll now be able to continue his return without allegations of sexual assault hanging over his head.
Former BJPenn.com editor Pedro Alex Carrasco made public sexual assault allegations against Penn early this year when he tweeted, “Tired of seeing this pervert BJ Penn in the news. Dude’s a cocaine addict, who sexually assaulted my Playboy model GF, and I have proof.”
Carrasco worked for several years at BJPenn.com and says that he lived next door to Penn for 10 years. He left the website late last year, but didn’t publicly make any claims about the alleged sexual assault of his girlfriend until February of this year.
Penn adamantly denied any wrongdoing, and an independent UFC investigation found that no criminal or civil charges had been filed against Penn to date in April, nor had any action been taken by local law enforcement.

On Monday, TMZ Sports reported that Penn's case had been reviewed by the County of Hawaii's prosecuting attorney, who determined there was insufficient evidence to charge Penn.
The UFC Hall of Fame fighter was most recently slated to return to the Octagon in the UFC Manila main event opposite Ricardo Lamas. Their bout and the entire Oct. 15 event was canceled when Penn had to withdraw due to a last-minute injury. It was the latest in Penn's yearlong struggle to return to active competition.
There was no news of Penn's next move as of the time of publication.
