What Blackburn Rovers boss John Eustace felt 'played into their hands' against Leeds United
John Eustace believes the Championship fixture schedule "played into their hands" after watching his Blackburn Rovers side dent Leeds United's title charge.
Todd Cantwell, who worked with United boss Daniel Farke at Norwich City, scored the only goal of the contest from the penalty spot. The midfielder slotted home from 12 yards in the 22nd minute after Ao Tanaka upended Tyrhys Dolan in the box.
The visitors dictated proceedings for long periods after the break as Farke turned to his bench for inspiration. However, the Whites failed to find a way past Rovers goalkeeper Aynsley Pears and Eustace's side held on to claim a third straight win.

Eustace said: "Outstanding performance. (I'm) Proud of the group win, lose or draw. A pleasure to work with. (I'm) Proud of the boys."
Rovers have played one fewer game than United this week. They were meant to travel to Portsmouth last Saturday but the clash was postponed at the eleventh hour. Eustace freshened a "few things" up after their midweek win at Middlesbrough. "Only our second game, not our third," said. "That played into our hands a little maybe.
"We were brave playing out from the back. Gave them a few opportunities, but tried to play the right way. We didn't just sit in."
The Lancashire side climbed up to eighth in the table after their hard-fought win at Ewood Park this afternoon. "Very important nobody gets carried away," added Eustace. "This league is relentless."
Defeat leaves United in second position, three points off leaders Sheffield United after 18 matches. The Blades leapfrogged the Whites into top spot after seeing off Sunderland at Bramall Lane last night.
