Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Are Down to Make Taylor Swift’s Song Into a Movie

Taylor Swift has been close with married couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively for years now, and she has famously used their family of five as inspiration for her music. But now, it seems the gang is interested in adding another artistic feat to their friendship dynamic: film making.

On September 12th, a fan (@TSlifestyle13) tweeted that Swift's song "The Last Great American Dynasty" would make an "incredible movie," and they even listed who they would cast in the leading roles. The song tells the story of Rebekah Harkness, a socialite who once lived in Swift's Rhode Island home, aka the "Holiday House." The fan cast Lively as Rebekah, Reynolds as her husband Bill, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson as the feuding neighbor whose dog Rebekah "dyes key lime green." Little did the fan know that all four celebs mentioned would jump on this idea immediately.

Ferguson was the first to sign on to the imaginary project, writing, "Ok I'm avail for this", and tagging Swift, Lively, and Reynolds in his tweet.

In true jokester form, Reynolds responded to Ferguson by saying, "But Bill's heart...?" referencing how his suggested character dies of a heart attack in "The Last Great American Dynasty."

Next, the songwriter herself (and the screen writer, we'd hope, if this ever actually happens) gave her two cents on the film idea by referencing one of her own lyrics, because, duh—this is Taylor Swift we're talking about. The singer wrote, "not trying to be The Loudest Woman This Town Has Ever Seen but... I LOVE THIS."

Finally, Lively (aka our future Rebekah) rounded out the conversation with another jokey reference to the song lyrics, writing, "I painted Ryan key lime green ...I can't wait til he wakes up."

Um, can we be part of this friend group? And can we just say, any movie starring Lively, Reynolds, and Ferguson is a movie we want to see. But especially if that movie is based off of a Taylor Swift song—and we'd hope the MTV VMA-winning director could make her film directorial debut here.

These celebs are no strangers to collaborating artistically together. Lively and Reynolds' daughter James made an appearance on Swift's 2017 hit, "Gorgeous", and the 2020 Folkore track "Betty" revealed the couple's third child's name. Meanwhile, Ferguson had a cameo in Swift's music video for "You Need to Calm Down." So, yeah, these four are tight-knit.

Shoutout to @TSLifestyle13 for manifesting this could-be epic collab.
