Blake Lively has shared an adorable Gossip Girl throwback photo.

The actress played Serena van der Woodson in the hit series which began in 2007 and aired its final episode in 2012.

Posting to Instagram on Sunday (October 4), Blake shared a picture of the cast of the first ever series of Gossip Girl – and everyone looks incredibly young.

"Class of '07", she captioned the (rather fuzzy) image.

Featured in the photograph are Gossip Girl regular cast members Blake, Leighton Meester, Chace Crawford, Penn Badgley and Ed Westwick.

Also pictured are their season one co-stars Amanda Setton and Dreama Walker.

The post follows Blake's co-star and ex-boyfriend Penn Badgley previously explaining why he struggles watching old episodes of the show.

He said: "I know that I watched with my wife, with Domino [Kirke], before we got married. It must've been six months after we met. She had never seen it, and that's the last time I can remember seeing an episode.

"I remember even then, it has nothing to do with the show, but it was very hard to watch. These snapshots of yourself when you're 20, 21, 22 years old. Who can enjoy that? Sometimes it's just uncomfortable."

It also follows the Gossip Girl reboot being pushed back a year amid the coronavirus pandemic.
