Bobby Madden on why Rangers VAR review was WRONG but SFA hailed for 'seeing the light'
Bobby Madden has had his say on a controversial Rangers VAR call involving Tom Lawrence - and says Willie Collum's conclusion was WRONG.
As part of the VAR Review released by the Scottish FA with transparency given on decisions taken so far this season, a clip showing a tackle by Lawrence in the lead up to a Gers goal against Ross County has circulated.
The midfielder slid in from behind on Aidan Denholm with referee Ross Hardie heard saying he "played the ball" and waving play on, before Cyriel Dessers went on to score. Hardie had also been head urging Lawrence not to make the tackle before ignoring calls for a foul anyway.

In his reflection, Collum admitted it WAS a foul and the whistler got that one wrong, but defended the VAR team for not intervening on the goal and insisted the play shouldn't have been pulled all the way back for the foul.
Madden has hailed the decision to do these reviews and offer an honest take on what has gone before. But he disagrees with the explanation on the Dessers goal.
He said: "Massive step forward and SFA finally seen the light Hopefully the real big incidents are reviewed consistently. I have to say I disagree with Rangers goal v Ross County. IMO you can't win possession when fouling and then go on to score.
"35 seconds and 11 passes later the goal is scored. Yes, the APP doesn't necessarily have to go back to when the scoring team take possession, but when they win the ball by committing a foul I think you have to."
