FIBT president Ivo Ferriani and head of the FIBT track committee Giacomo Dariz spent several days inspecting the Sanki Sliding Centre before confirming that the track complies with the necessary guidelines.

“The track is now ready for international competitions," said Ferriani. “I am extremely pleased that this is the case, as the organisation for the Russian Cup was also excellent.”

The track will host the finals of the bob and skeleton World Cup tour in February next year before the Games arrive at the southern Russian facility a year later.
