Borat 2 is reportedly on the way with Sacha Baron Cohen filming sequel in secret

Sacha Baron Cohen has reportedly filmed a sequel to Borat in secret and already screened it to film executives.

The actor was spotted in character as the hapless reporter from Kazakhstan earlier this summer, and now it’s been revealed that Borat is getting a new film 14 years after his last big screen appearance.

The original Borat film was released in 2006 and followed the character as he set off on a journey across the US to film a documentary and discover more about American culture.

Despite the lack of fanfare, Collider now reports that Cohen has already completed the filming of a sequel and has screened the results to a “select few” industry executives.

The original film focused on Borat's encounters with unwitting members of the public. Due to the popularity of the character, it’s reported that Borat himself will go undercover in the new film.

Further details have yet to be released, although fans can be sure it'll be just as outlandish and outrageous as the original. It's not clear yet whether his latest prank, which saw him crash a right-wing rally, will be included in the film.

The character of Borat first appeared on Cohen’s Da Ali G Show in 2000, and appeared in the hit comedy Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan six years later.

Cohen most recently starred in and created Who Is America?, a satirical series featuring a range of characters and interviews with US politicians and supporters.
