Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand did exactly what the rest of us would do — log on to Twitter to express how they feel after being embarrassed.

During the final round of the shootout between the Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday night, Marchand executed an all-time whiff, handing the Flyers a win.

In the midst of being the butt of countless memes and jokes on social media, Marchand tweeted out a picture of him winning the Stanley Cup in 2011, as if that changes people’s minds.

It’s certainly an impressive feat, but so is being an elite athlete and making such a weird mistake in the game you’ve played your entire life.

In response to his tweet, Marchand was heckled with countless replies, but he took offense to one specific reply and had to tweet back.

Known for his chirps on the ice, Marchand definitely steps up his game with the use of “peasant”.

The 31-year-old winger has scored 20 goals and 63 points through 47 games this season.
