Bournemouth 2-1 Arsenal: Gunners performance nothing less than heartbreaking

There’s not a lot to say as an Arsenal fan today. I’ll let you understand how heartbroken we all feel from the three takeaways after the defeat at Bournemouth.

Wenger needs to go-now

Enough is enough. At this point, I have been supporting this club for over a decade and probably suffered more trauma than I deserve. It all felt worth it at times, but not anymore.

There is no fight in side. There is no life in the way this club operates. It makes me and millions of other fans feel like crap. And while he may not be the only thing wrong at Arsenal, but Wenger has done enough now to see his legacy tarnish.

It is one thing to have a bad season and see your players fail at a system that does not work. It happens to every other team. But this consistency of failure to produce a decent performance is damning. It makes me sick.

So, from pretty much all of us here at the Arsenal fans’ section, Arsene-thank you for everything, but it’s time to go. You’ve done plenty for this club; sadly both really good and really, really bad.

Sanchez’ absence was expected

As if losing yet another away game wasn’t enough, the Gunners will soon be losing one of their best players-that too to a PL rival. Alexis Sanchez’ “vague” behavior meant he was left at home this afternoon and that pretty much confirmed our worst fears.

The Chilean was a head-shaking signing back in 2014, and I admit I triple checked if the club wasn’t messing around. To see his imminent departure in the news brings back those feelings of disbelief he ever signed for Arsenal.

Whether or not he would have made a difference at Dean Court is a debate for another day. All that we found out from his absence today is that he has no interest left in playing for this club.

For a man who is so passionate about football to give that signal, shows you where Arsenal stand. They have managed to isolate a genuinely dedicated footballer and made him quit halfway through a season. All this because this club is in for nothing more than profit. Disgusting.

Arsenal need to wrap up Malcom (& more)

It’s a tough pill to swallow but if both Alexis and Ozil end up leaving, Arsenal will be no better than their opponents today. UEL qualification could become a problem, much less UCL. There needs to be an immediate reaction to these potential losses in the roster.

Thankfully, the rumors of their departure have been accompanied with rumors of their replacements as well. Sanchez and Ozil’s place in his Arsenal XI look to be filled with the notable names of Malcom and Mkhitaryan respectively.

For once, neither is a name that will make the fans question the player’s identity. Both players have been in the news over the last few months, perhaps for entirely different reasons. However, it would be a quality pair to replace an outgoing quality pair.

And that should be the blue print for Arsenal’s management team to move forward. There is little else you can do to plug in holes left by your two best players in the last 5 years. Whether or not that proves enough remains to be seen.
