AFC Bournemouth 1 - 3 Chelsea FC

17:38 , Giuseppe Muro

Lampard on Bournemouth’s penalty shout: “On first viewing I thought it wasn’t. But if you say it wasn’t and VAR says it wasn’t, that’s good enough for me. Maybe in the period of time since I’ve been here, we’ve deserved that twist of luck - if it was a twist of luck.”

17:31 , Giuseppe Muro

Lampard on confidence: “I don’t know why the players can’t grasp it, there are a few younger players we’ve brought in and it doesn’t matter if you’ve won a World Cup, you’re moving to the Premier League. There are a few players finding their feet.

“Typically at Chelsea, one or two have fed into the group and now we have more. It’s understandable that as a group finding rhythm and confidence can be difficult. This is a first step, it won’t be plane sailing but there is talent there and the players need to come together to get us to where we want to be.”

Lampard: I’m very happy

17:31 , Giuseppe Muro

Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “I’m happy. We came in off the back of a tough run, it’s been a tough year and there is a lot work to do.

“But the performance and the result in isolation are really good, we deserved to win the game. It’s a nice step forward for the lads. To work hard and come to a place that has been very hard for a lot of teams this year... I’m very happy.”

Noni Madueke - 8

May not have had much luck or shown much compsure when shooting, but was a constant threat out wide. Bournemouth simply couldn’t deal with him all afternoon. Chelsea’s star of the show.

Well well well... have Chelsea just scored the goal that will see them win a Premier League match for the first time since the 3-1 victory at Leicester on 11 March?

GOAL! Bournemouth 1-2 Chelsea | Benoit Badiashile 82’

16:42 , Giuseppe Muro

Ziyech delivers a brilliant free-kick into the box and Badiashile peels away from his marker at the back post to head home!

Are Chelsea heading for their first win under Frank Lampard?

16:39 , Giuseppe Muro

79 mins: Huge chance for Bournemouth! Has to score! Cook sends in a great corner which is headed down by Lerma back, Ouattara is unmarked three yards out but heads over. What a miss.

16:37 , Giuseppe Muro

76 mins: Ziyech does well down the right to disposes Cook and send in a cross but Havertz heads wide. That was a weak effort.

16:34 , Giuseppe Muro

75 mins: Double change for Chelsea: Azpilicueta and Ziyech on for Chilwell and Madueke.

Dom Smith at the Vitality Stadium

16:32 , Giuseppe Muro

After sprinting to the byline to cross, Chilwell has just gone down clutching his calf. Could be a hamstring injury... on a day when Chelsea could not call on Fofana in defence for the same reason.

16:32 , Giuseppe Muro

71 mins: Chilwell down for Chelsea after pulling up as he tried to cross.

16:31 , Giuseppe Muro

70 mins: Brilliant save from Kepa! Christie finds Vina run down the left of the area, he drives into the area but his effort is pushed away by Kepa.

16:29 , Giuseppe Muro

Chants of ‘Roman Abramovich’ from the Chelsea fans…

16:22 , Giuseppe Muro

63 mins: And that will be Kante’s last involvement of the day. A double change for Chelsea: Kante and Mudryk off, Sterling and Loftus-Cheek on.

16:21 , Giuseppe Muro

62 mins: More positive play from Madueke wins Chelsea a corner, which comes out to Kante who tries a shot from range that he completely fluffs.

Dom Smith at the Vitality Stadium

16:19 , Giuseppe Muro

Quiet start to the second half here at the Vitality, but Mudryk is putting himself about a bit. He was quite rightly booked for diving in the first half, and as he thought about sliding into a challenge right under his manager's nose just now, Lampard reached out a hand as if to say: 'No thank you. No risking a second booking please.'

16:19 , Giuseppe Muro

58 mins: Chance for Bournemouth! Ouattara does well down the left, he cuts the ball back to Christie inside the area and he lashes it wide.

16:18 , Giuseppe Muro

55 mins: Chrisite picks out Ouattara down the left wing but Badiashile sees it behind for a corner, which comes to nothing. Better from Bournemouth.

16:16 , Giuseppe Muro

54 mins: Chelsea tare urning up the presser now. They win another Chelsea corner, Mudryk delivers but again Bournemouth clear the initial delivery. Fernandez crosses again but Ouattara heads away and Bournemouth survive.

16:12 , Giuseppe Muro

51 mins: Bournemouth fans are unhappy, they want a second yellow card for Kante after he chops down a Bournemouth player. The Chelsea midfielder needs to be careful.

16:09 , Giuseppe Muro

49 mins: Frustration from the home fans as the referee pulls a promising attack after Chalobah is caught in the face by Solanke.

16:07 , Giuseppe Muro

47 mins: Bright start to the second half from, who Chelsea win an early corner on the left. It gets headed behind for another corner, which is also well defended by Bournemouth.

16:05 , Giuseppe Muro

46 mins: Back underway! No changes from either side.

The half somewhat petered out at the end there, but Chelsea should be pleased with an upturn in performance at the break. Lampard will hope the pace of Mudryk and poise of Madueke on the opposite flank can bring some tangible returns in the second half.

Half-time: Bournemouth 1-1 Chelsea

15:51 , Giuseppe Muro

All-square at the end of an entertaining first-half. Madueke has been a constant threat for Chelsea, who have had the better of it so far.

15:48 , Giuseppe Muro

45 mins: Chelsea win a corner but Lerma heads it away.

15:47 , Giuseppe Muro

42 mins: Fernandez feeds Madueke down the right, he easily beats Vina but his cross into the area is cut out. That has been a great battle between Madueke and Vina down the Chelsea right.

15:45 , Giuseppe Muro

41 mins: Fernandez looks to be in on goal but he is penalised for handball after an attempted clearance from Senesi hit him on the arm.

15:42 , Giuseppe Muro

39 mins: Good change of pace from Ouattara, who beats Chilwell down the right, crosses the ball into the area and Kepa does well to get down to cut it out.

15:40 , Giuseppe Muro

39 mins: He’s back on and looks fine to cotninue...

15:39 , Giuseppe Muro

38 mins: Madueke down and receiving treatment.

15:39 , Giuseppe Muro

37 mins: Shot from Madueke! He has been the spark for Chelsea. He twists and turns into the area and shoots straight at Neto.

15:38 , Giuseppe Muro

35 mins: Madueke gets into a good position on the right again but his final ball is poor and his cross goes straight to Neto.

15:35 , Giuseppe Muro

33 mins: Half a chance for Bournemouth as Ouattara heads wide.

Dom Smith at the Vitality Stadium

15:34 , Giuseppe Muro

There is no doubt that Madueke is an extremely gifted footballer, but once or twice in the Arsenal defeat, and three times already here, he has opted to shoot when team-mates were better positioned. Chelsea’s brightest spark so far, but needs to lift his head more.

15:33 , Giuseppe Muro

30 mins: Side netting from Madueke! The Chelsea winger has been at the heart of everything good they have done so far. Madueke glides past Vina into the area on the right but shoots into the side netting from a tight angle. Could he have squared that to Gallagher, who was waiting for a tap in?

15:29 , Giuseppe Muro

26 mins: Kante passes the ball straight out of play looking for Madueke. That sums up Chelsea’s season.

15:28 , Giuseppe Muro

24 mins: Chelsea are having a lot of the ball but are doing little to hurt Bournemouth with it.

Dom Smith at the Vitality Stadium

15:26 , Giuseppe Muro

That’s a phenomenal equaliser from Bournemouth, superbly bent into the top corner by Vina. Chelsea have certainly been the better side, but Bournemouth have shown in recent weeks just how potent they can be on the break. There was that rampancy for all to see once more.

GOAL! Bournemouth 1-1 Chelsea | Matias Vina 21’

15:23 , Giuseppe Muro

Another setback for Chelsea and a lovely goal from Bournemouth!

They cut Chelsea open with a brilliant move that ends with Vina curling shot into the far top corner.

15:21 , Giuseppe Muro

17 mins: Bournemouth have come from behind to win four Premier Leaue games this season and are still playing with confidence. They win a corner but the whistle goes for a foul on Kepa.

15:20 , Giuseppe Muro

15 mins: Madueke has been really bright for Chelsea so far. More good play from him, as Vina goes on a driving run but he marks him well as the ball runs out of play.

15:19 , Giuseppe Muro

14 mins: Mudryk goes down the right and is sent tumbling by Smith inside the area… but the Chelsea man is booked for diving.

Dom Smith at the Vitality Stadium

15:17 , Giuseppe Muro

Madueke heavily involved, before Kante's cross put it on a plate for Gallagher. Just about deserved, in the early stages.

GOAL! Bournemouth 0-1 Chelsea | Conor Gallagher 9’

15:13 , Giuseppe Muro

Some relief for Frank Lampard. Kante crosses from the right and Gallagher drifts inbetween defenders to head past Neto.

"We scored a goal," chant the Chelsea fans!

15:10 , Giuseppe Muro

7 mins: Shot from Madueke! Bournemouth get in a mess and give the ball away in a dangerous area and Madueke forces Neto into a save. It’s been an open start to the game, with chances at both ends.

15:09 , Giuseppe Muro

6 mins: A worrying moment for Chelsea as Badiashile goes down. He needs some treatment but he will be OK to continue.

15:07 , Giuseppe Muro

4 mins: Just wide from Lerma! Bournemouth on top early on. Chalobah slips and Lerma is not far away with an effort from range.

15:06 , Giuseppe Muro

3 mins: Madueke nods it behind for an early Bournemouth corner. Chelsea clear but Bournemouth work the ball well on the left and Kepa is forced to cut out a good cross from Vina. Decent start from the home side.

Very loud chants from the Chelsea away end in support of Frank Lampard. Let’s see whether he can avoid equaling the club’s joint-worst run in its history, on his watch this afternoon...

After the national anthem to mark the Coronation of King Charles.. we’re underway on the south coast!

Dom Smith at the Vitality Stadium

The teams are in the tunnel. Slightly odd atmosphere before kick-off here at the Vitality. The big screen has stopped working, yet we're still hearing old commentary from Bournemouth goals that no one can see.

14:49 , Giuseppe Muro

In truth, in-form Bournemouth come in as favourites. The Cherries are all-but safe after back-to-back wins and can move above Chelsea with victory today.

Bournemouth have won four of their last five league games.

Since the beginning of April, only Manchester City and Newcastle United have won more Premier League games than Bournemouth's five.

14:47 , Giuseppe Muro

Lampard on Fofana: “Fofana had a bit of an issue with his hamstring yesterday travelling down, so it’s more of a precaution on that one. Other than that we’ve got a squad, so the players that come in have to show what they can do.”

While Wesley Fofana's absence is enforced due to a hamstring injury, the fact Lampard has dropped Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Raheem Sterling is no real surprise.

Aubameyang had just nine touches in an ineffectual display against Arsenal last time out — while Sterling's execution in the final third left something to be desired.

Havertz and Mudryk will hope to make an impact as the pair who come in up front.

14:33 , Giuseppe Muro

Confirmation from Dom Smith that Wesley Fofana was left out of the Chelsea squad due to a hamstring injury.

The £70million signing travelled with the squad to the south coast but was not included, with Benoit Badiashile starting in a back-three alongside Thiago Silva and Trevoh Chalobah.

Fofana has struggled for form in recent weeks and looked unhappy when he was substituted by Frank Lampard late on in Wednesday’s 3-1 defeat at Arsenal.

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly this week promised fans he will get it right and bring the good times back to Stamford Bridge.

Boehly says he and co-owners Clearlake Capital have learned a lot about the transfer market in their first year in football and insists they will turn Chelsea back into winners.

Chelsea have endured one of the worst seasons in their history and are on course for their lowest Premier League finish, despite spending more than £600million on new players since Boehly and Clearlake took over last May.

Boehly has been criticised for his running of the club but he remains optimistic about the future, as Chelsea close in on the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as their new head coach.

Speaking at the Milken Institute conference on Wednesday, Boehly said: “Our view though was that this is a long-term project and we are committed to the long-term.

“We very much believe that we are going to figure it out. We have got the best league in the world, we have got what I think is the top city in the world and we have got an unbelievable location in the top city in the world.

“There is a market for top players in every country in the world and each one of those markets is different. You have the Portuguese market, the French market, the English market so (you have) the ability to go to these markets.

“Then of course you have to build a team, your coach is the conductor of the team.”

14:16 , Giuseppe Muro

There is no place for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Wesley Fofana in the Chelsea squad today.

Fofana misses out with a hamstring injury.

14:09 , Giuseppe Muro

For Bournemouth, Gary O'Neil names the same side that started last weekend's 4-1 win over Leeds on the south coast.

14:08 , Giuseppe Muro

So Benoit Badiashile starts for Chelsea.

The January signing has had to make do with a bit-part role in recent weeks but comes into the team at the Vitality Stadium.

Frank Lampard makes five changes following Tuesday’s 3-1 away defeat by Arsenal.

Badiashile, Trevoh Chalobah, Mykhailo Mudryk, Conor Gallagher and Kai Havertz all come into the starting line-up.

Cesar Azpilicueta, Wesley Fofana, Mateo Kovacic, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Raheem Sterling are the players to make way.

Chelsea have arrived...

13:43 , Giuseppe Muro

Today feels like another important day for Frank Lampard, who has lost each of the last 10 matches he has taken charge of in all competitions for Everton and Chelsea.

He is the first English manager to lose 10 in a row while in charge of a top-flight team since Derby boss Arthur Cox in 1988 and is risking real reputational damage.

This is his 100th Premier League game as a manager. Victory would give everyone at Chelsea a much-needed lift but in truth it is hard to see where their next win will come from.

Chelsea could lose five consecutive Premier League games for the first time since 1993.

The Blues have scored just two goals in their last eight games in all competitions.

They have won just one of their last 11 away matches in the Premier League.

Sterling: Next Chelsea boss must have ‘final say on everything’

13:26 , Giuseppe Muro

Amid optimism a deal will be concluded with Mauricio Pochettino, Raheem Sterling says the next Chelsea head coach must have “the final say on everything”.

“I’m not one to tell the club what to do but from what I can gauge from where I was previously, organisation is the most important thing,” Sterling told Sky Sports.

“Having a manager that has the final say on everything and it being his way with everyone having to follow that.

“Successful teams always have a manager that comes in, brings his blueprint and everyone follows. If there are people that don’t follow, then they are not part of the team and that is how brutal it needs to be at a high level.

“It’s a fine line between winning, coming second and being in the position we are now. It’s about everyone being on the same page from my experience."

Chelsea manager latest

13:18 , Giuseppe Muro

Chelsea remain confident of concluding a deal for Mauricio Pochettino to become their next permanent head coach.

Pochettino and Chelsea are currently negotiating the final details of his contract and Chelsea are optimistic the details of the deal will be agreed.

Former Tottenham manager Pochettino is said to be excited by the challenge at Chelsea, despite their awful run of six successive defeats.

Frank Lampard will remain in caretaker charge until the end of the season so Chelsea are under no pressure to make a quick appointment.

Bournemouth will again be without Marcus Tavernier, who has not fully recovered from a hamstring problem.

Kieffer Moore and Hamed Traore are also sidelined due to concussion and a foot injury respectively.

Chelsea team news

Frank Lampard could ring the changes Wednesday’s surrender against Arsenal.

Lampard was furious after the 3-1 defeat at Emirates Stadium and could return to a three-man defence.

Kai Havertz is likely to come in for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after his anonymous display against Arsenal and Benoit Badiashile is pushing for a start in defence.

“He’s very close,’ said Lampard on Badiashile, who has hardly played in recent weeks.

“He couldn’t play in the Champions League for me. He played against Brighton which was a difficult match for everybody. He’s in competition with Thiago [Silva], with Wesley [Fofana], Trevoh [Chalobah]. He’s very close, he’s training well.

Mateo Kovacic could be dropped, while Marc Cucurella, Mason Mount and Reece James remain sidelined.
