Lebanon-born, Germany-based Manuel Charr (pictured) has two sisters living in Syria, a country in which a bloody civil war has been raging for months.
“I have good medical help and these people have nothing," said Charr, 28. “My sisters ring me and say they have problems – no money, no food and their husbands cannot go outside because they are afraid they will be killed.
“I send them money but want to do more. We need the nation to stop the killing, stop the war. This is why I fight David Haye, to help people take notice.”
Charr (23-1) fights Haye (26-2) at Manchester's MEN Arena on June 29th.
