Bulgarian Pulev has been inactive since September last year - an 11th round stoppage of Belarusian Alexander Ustinov (34-2) in Germany. He won the European title five months earlier from Ukrainian Alexander Dimitrenko (34-2).

Chisora, 29, contested European belt against Robert Helenius in December 2011, losing by a split decision in Germany.

The Finchley heavyweight said: "This is the new Dereck Chisora back on the road to winning the world heavyweight title.

"Kubrat for the European title would be nice and he's going to get knocked out – or bring me another unbeaten Yank to spank like Deontay Wilder."

It is understood that Pulev, 32, could vacate European belt as he seeks a world title opportunity. Chisora will return at the Copper Box Arena on September 21.
