Chisora announced on his official Twitter account: "Good news... I've got my British License back!"

The 29-year-old Zimbabwe-born fighter's world title opportunity against WBC title-holder Vitali Klitschko turned into a weekend of chaos and shame for the sport in Munich last February.

Chisora slapped his opponent during the weigh-in, spat water in the face of Vitali's brother and cornerman Wladimir before the bout and brawled with compatriot David Haye at the post-fight press conference.

The series of incidents led to him having his BBBoC licence being withdrawn on March 14 of last year, and 'Del Boy' has not competed since a fifth-round stoppage defeat at the hands of Haye at Upton Park in a main event licensed by La Federation Luxembourgeoise.

Chisora said soon after the news broke in an official Frank Warren Promotions statement: “I’m glad that this whole episode is finally behind me and I can carry on with my boxing career in my own country and with a British Boxing Board of Control licence.

"I would like to thank everyone who has kept faith me over the troubled months and I look forward to repaying their loyalty with my performances in the ring as opposed to my action outside of it. I’d like to particularly thank the Luxembourg Boxing Federation for their support.”

Chisora will make his return to the ring on Saturday 20th April at Wembley Arena in a 10-round international contest, that also features WBO light-heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly and Commonwealth super-featherweight champion Liam Walsh.

His manager Warren added: “I'm delighted that the British Boxing Board of Control has made the right decision and re-instated Dereck's licence and the slate is now clean. He is an exciting fighter who always gives 100 percent.

"We will announce who Dereck will be fighting at Wembley Arena shortly but it's great to have him back in action and we've got some big plans for him."
