This will be Basile’s 70th professional bout. He lost on his debut some 11 years ago, before going on a 25 fight winning streak in his native Argentina. He then came up against Alexander Dimitrenko in Germany, who iced him not long into the first round back in in 2006.
Basile once contested the WBC’s Youth Silver heavyweight title - at 37 years old. He suffered a fourth round knockout to relative novice, Pole Artur Szpilka.
Promoter Frank Warren is trying to engineer a summer dance for Fury and Dereck Chisora, but no opponent has been confirmed as yet for the Finchley heavy, who had a successful year last with four wins.
Also appearing will be Penge welter Bradley Skeete (14-0), who takes on the highly experienced but probably past it former world champion Vivian Harris (31-9-2). Tyson's cousin, rising heavyweight Hughie Fury, will also be in action.
Canning town light welter Billy Morgan (9-0) gets his first real test against Enfield’s Michael Grant (13-4-1), Wise Guy Frank Buglioni (11-0) takes on Italian Gaetano Nespro (21-9-1) for the WBO European super middleweight title, and there’s a nights exercise for other members of Warren’s stable including Erith’s Lewis Pettitt (12-1), newly signing Tom Stalker (5-0), Islington’s Georgie Kean (2-0) and Irishman Steve Collins Jnr (3–0).
