Gavin plans to bamboozle Vassell

Vassell, from Ancoats, Manchester, holds the Commonwealth strap and will be Gavin's toughest test to date, but he's confident he has the skills to record his 16th pro victory and add the Commonwealth title to his collection.

"Boxing's about hitting and not getting hit, I'm not going to take one just to land one on Vassell. I can beat him with speed, angles and counter-punching and I'll bamboozle him with boxing science," said Gavin.

"I'm looking forward to the fight, it's a real test against another undefeated British fighter with a title that will push me onto the next level in my career.

"Vassell's a good fighter and he's unbeaten for a reason. I rate him highly, but I've been watching him for a long time and I know his limitations and how to exploit them. I'll show everyone that brain will overcome brawn.

"I know that Vassell will try to rough me and will want to stand and trade, I've got no problem doing that, but I will do it on my terms when I'm ready and if I need to."
