The reigning reigning WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion wil lfight Pulev at the O2 World Hamburg in Germany, with the bout to be shown on British Eurosport 2, British Eurosport 2 HD and the Eurosport Player.
Pulev, a 33-year-old who at 6'4 1/2" is just an inch and a half shorter than Klitschko, is unbeaten in 20 fights and has 11 wins by knockout since turning professional in 2009.
He earned the right to fight for the world title by beating former world championship contender Tony Thompson on points, after which the IBF announced him the official mandatory challenger to heavyweight champion Klitschko - and he is confident he can spring a shock against the Ukrainian superstar.
"I will get the titles. I am ready to replace Wladimir Klitschko as the world champion," said the former amateur star.
Klitschko insisted that he will not take his opponent lightly.
"Pulev has an impressive record as an amateur as well as a professional. He has very good skills and I will definitely not underestimate him," he said.
"I am looking forward to boxing in Hamburg. Everybody knows I have a special relationship with this city and the atmosphere in the o2 World has always been unbelievable."
David Kerr, Managing Director of British Eurosport said, “We are delighted to confirm British Eurosport’s second successive World Heavyweight title fight in the classic Saturday night slot. Pulev has proved his mettle with the win over Tony Thompson and will put an undefeated record on the line against Wladimir Klitschko, whose reign as heavyweight champion is now only exceeded by Joe Louis.”
