The pair were supposed to meet on April 27, but Di Rocco, alias The King, suffered a shoulder injury and handed in a sick note. It is understood that Di Rocco's shoulder is now all better.

The title fight's on-off nature been frustrating for Carshalton's Daws and trainer Ian Burbedge, who have been in preparation since the beginning of the year.

Daws told the Streatham Guardian: "There could be any reason why there have been these continuous delays, maybe the Italians are not confident of their lad, or maybe the promoters cannot stump up the purse (67,700 Euros).

"Either way, I just have to keep up my training in readiness for when it is finally sorted."

Hopefully, the setbacks are now out of the way, but there's still no confirmed venue as yet. Italy's 'leading' promoter OPI 2000 hasn't exactly been pushing the publicity boat out about the fight either, although they have been busy winning more purse bids.

In Rome today, they bid 33,717 Euro to stage Devis Boschiero's European super featherweight defence against Vitali Tajbert.
