Boxing - Matty Clarkson v Jamie Kelly added to September 20 Bowlers card

Coldwell Boxing's September 20 card at the Bowlers, Manchester will feature Preston’s Matty Clarkson (10-1-2) defending his Central Area light-heavyweight title against unbeaten Castleford 'Wonderboy' Jamie Kelly (6-0-1).

Since suffering his first defeat against Courtney Fry in December, Clarkson has racked up three wins including a ten round decison in June to take the regional belt from Sheffield's Carl Wild.

Kelly brings a 6-0-1 record across the Pennines with him - his draw coming away from home against Enfield prospect Andreas Evangelou over four rounds at the Royal Albert Hall.

“This is a fight I really like because I know full well how hungry both fighters are,” said promoter Dave Coldwell.

Shayne 'The Pain' Singleton (14-0) against Hudderfield's Tyrone Nurse (26-1) tops the Bowlers card, with Singleton defending the English light welterweight strap he won over ten close rounds with Curtis Woodhouse in March.  The pair were originally due to meet in June, but Singleton suffered a hand injury.

Also making appearances witll be Manchester's former ABA champion Hosea Burton (7-0), Barrow-in-Furness middleweight Liam Conroy (4-1) and Macclesfield super bantam Liam Hanrahan (4-0). Hyde's Danny Benson, who signed with Coldwell back in March, will make his debut at cruiserweight.
