A TEENAGER sustained cuts and bruises after being involved in a collision with a car that subsequently failed to stop.

It is reported that, at around 7am on Tuesday, January 17, a crash took place at the junction of Salisbury Street and Damory Street in Blandford.

A 14-year-old boy riding a bicycle and a white hatchback car were involved in the collision, with the car then failing to stop at the scene.

Officers investigating a fail-to-stop road traffic collision in Blandford are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

The cyclist sustained cuts and bruises as a result of the incident.

Police Constable James Prowse, of North Dorset police, said: “The driver of the vehicle involved would have been aware of the impact from the collision with the cyclist but did not stop at the scene.

“We are carrying out enquiries to identify the vehicle involved and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
