Braves foam tomahawks spill onto Atlanta highway, blocking traffic

The mishap occurred not far from the Braves' new stadium.

Clean-up on I-75. Chop, chop.

Traffic near the Braves' new suburban stadium — a mess in the best of times — ground to a halt around midday Wednesday when a truck spilled a shipment of foam tomahawks.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the tomahawks were blocking the two left lanes of southbound Interstate 75 south of Windy Hill Road — the exit for the Braves' newly opened SunTrust Park.

The Braves will make their regular-season debut at the ballpark Friday night against the Padres. There is no mention of a tomahawk giveaway this weekend on the team's promotional calendar, but someone, somewhere will undoubtedly have some questions to ax after Wednesday's spill.
