Chelsea announce Premier League squad as Ben Chilwell decision made
Chelsea have confirmed their Premier League squad for the 2024/25 season.
The Blues, along with the other 19 sides in the top-flight, have been required to submit their squad list for the remainder of the campaign. In the squad, no more than 17 players from overseas can be named, with the other eight spots going to homegrown players.
As per regulations, to be considered homegrown, players need to have been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or the Welsh FA for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons, or 36 months, before his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21).
Meanwhile, Premier League rules state: "An Under 21 player is defined as one who is under the age of 21 on 1st January in the year in which the season commences and are eligible over and above the limit of 25 players per squad. As a result, for the 2023/24 campaign, Under-21 players will have been born on or after 1 January 2002."
