Joao Felix completes Chelsea transfer as 11th summer signing confirmed
Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid on a seven-year contract.
The Blues have now completed the re-signing of the 24-year-old, who spent the second part of the 2022/23 season on loan at Stamford Bridge. Felix was offered to Chelsea by agent Jorge Mendes earlier in the month after the Blues' deal to sign Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid collapsed.
The Portugal international's return to west London comes after Conor Gallagher was given the green light to complete his transfer to Atleti. Felix is now in contention to make his second Chelsea debut this weekend as the Blues travel to Molineux to take on Wolves on Sunday afternoon.
"I'm really happy to be back at Chelsea and I can’t wait to get started," Felix said. "I can see some familiar faces from the last time I was here, which is always nice.
"I loved my time here before and I told my friends and family that I’d love to return to the Premier League one day. To do that with Chelsea is a great feeling and I’m excited to be back."
Felix becomes the 11th signing of the summer. He follows Pedro Neto, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Filip Jorgensen, Omari Kellyman, Aaron Anselmino, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, Marc Guiu and Tosin Adarabioyo.
