Brentford fixtures for Championship 2018-19 season: Full schedule with dates

Brentford will begin their Championship campaign away to newly promoted Rotherham United, the EFL announced on Thursday.

The Bees, who finished ninth last season, will once more look to push on and reach a play-off spot having sealed a top ten finish every year since their promotion from League One in 2014.

A slow start last term hindered Dean Smith side’s late play-off push last term, and they’ll face a similar tough test come the new season, with relegated Stoke City their first away game of the season before then facing Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa to round off their opening four games.

The run in is a little kinder, with Reading, Leeds and Bolton a few to name in their final stretch, before they finish their campaign against Preston North End at Griffin Park.

Before taking charge of the opening game, it seems Smith faces another battle to keep hold of Wales international defender Chris Mepham, who is once again of interest to Eddie Howe and Bournemouth.
