Brentford vs Man City: Prediction, kick off time, team news, TV, live stream, h2h results, latest odds today

Brentford could today complete a famous Premier League double over champions Manchester City as the season draws to a close.

The Bees stunned City at the Etihad in November, the only time Pep Guardiola’s side have been beaten at home in any competition this season, and know they need all three points here to keep their slim European hopes alives.

Should Aston Villa and Tottenham both lose and Brentford pick up a shock victory, it will be the Bees qualifying for the Europa Conference League next season.

For City, the focus is very much on the FA Cup and Champions League finals to come, though they will want to go into those having extended their unbeaten run, which now stands at 25 matches.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Brentford vs Man City is scheduled for a 4.30pm BST kick-off time today, Sunday 28 May, 2023.

The Gtech Community Stadium in London will host.

Brentford vs Man City team news

Brentford could go with the same side that beat Tottenham last weekend, with Thomas Frank not having to contend with any fresh injury concerns.

Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo will once again be relied upon in the absence of Ivan Toney, while Christian Norgaard remains injured and Pontus Jansson will not get the chance to make one final Bees appearance.

Guardiola will likely rest a number of his first-team stars, with Phil Foden and John Stones unlikely to be risked after coming off against Brighton with knocks. Nathan Ake and is also expected to miss out with a hamstring injury.

Jack Grealish, Manuel Akanji, Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte will all be assessed during training on Saturday, with the likes of Rico Lewis and Cole Palmer set to feature if the regular first-team stars are not available.

Brentford vs Man City prediction

Brentford are certainly capable of causing City problems, particularly if the visitors do make plenty of changes as expected.

It should prove to be an entertaining final-day encounter, but City will be keen to keep the momentum going heading into their two huge finals and should have enough to get the job done.

Man City to win, 2-1.
