Bred in the USA, the 2010 Hollywood Gold Cup winner travelled to Australia, where he failed to impress under Mick Kent, his best placing a sixth in last October’s Caulfield Cup.

The eight-year-old’s next port of call was Dubai, where he failed to show in three lacklustre outings.

Believing he still has some racing in him, Unusual Suspect’s connections are now lining up a stay in the UK, where Luca Cumani could be given the task of licking him into shape for one last chance to shine at Royal Ascot.
