Bullet point previews of Premier League matches

(Reuters) - Match-by-match facts and statistics ahead of the second round of the Premier League on Aug. 18-20 (games at 1400 GMT unless stated):

Cardiff City v Newcastle United (1130)

*Cardiff have lost each of their last 10 league matches against Newcastle, their longest losing streak against an opponent in league history.

*Neil Warnock's Cardiff have won eight of their last 10 league matches at home but all of them were in the second division last season.

*Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has never lost against Warnock in five previous meetings in all competitions, winning each of the last four.

*Newcastle's Matt Ritchie has contributed a goal and two assists in his last two league encounters against Cardiff.

*Newcastle have lost their last three away league games. They have never suffered four consecutive defeats on the road under Benitez.

Everton v Southampton

*Everton are unbeaten in their last 13 home league games against Southampton, since a 2-0 loss in November 1997.

*After recording a victory in their last away match of 2017-18 campaign, Mark Hughes' Southampton have an opportunity to collect consecutive wins on the road for the first time since March 2017.

*Striker Charlie Austin has bagged three goals in three league appearances against Everton for Southampton, but all have come at home.

*Everton started their new season under Marco Silva with a 2-2 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers, while Southampton played out a goalless draw against Burnley.

*Richarlison scored with both of his shots on goal against Wolves on his Everton debut, having failed to score with his last 53 shots in the league with Watford.

Leicester City v Wolverhampton Wanderers

*This is the first top flight meeting between Leicester and Wolves since February 2004, a goalless draw at the King Power Stadium in a season which ended with both sides suffering relegation.

*Leicester have not beaten Wolves in the top flight since Dec. 1983, a 5-1 win at Filbert Street.

*All of Ruben Neves' seven league goals for Wolves since the start of last season have come from outside the box, including a free kick goal against Everton in their Premier League opener.

*Striker Jamie Vardy's next goal at home will be his 50th at King Power Stadium for Leicester.

*Claude Puel's Leicester have won only four points from their last 24 available in the league.

Tottenham Hotspur v Fulham

*This will be Fulham's 1000th match in the English top flight - the 36th different team to reach the milestone.

*Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs have lost only twice in their last 38 home Premier League matches, against Chelsea and Manchester City last season.

*After beating Newcastle United 2-1 on the opening weekend, the north London club will be looking to win their first two matches of a league campaign for the first time since 2014-15.

*Fulham are looking to end Spurs' run of 18 consecutive home league wins against promoted teams.

*Spurs striker Harry Kane is seeking his first league goal in August, despite playing 14 matches and attempting 46 shots.

West Ham United v Bournemouth

*Both West Ham and Bournemouth have two wins apiece and two draws in their six Premier League meetings.

*Bournemouth have scored 12 goals against West Ham, more than they have against any other side in the competition.

*West Ham's Michail Antonio has scored in each of his last two league matches against Bournemouth but he was unavailable in either meeting with the team last season.

*Callum Wilson has scored four goals in his four league appearances against West Ham.

*Manuel Pellegrini's West Ham are at the bottom of the standings after suffering a 4-0 defeat by Liverpool in the opening weekend, while Bournemouth started their season with a 2-0 win against Cardiff City.

Chelsea v Arsenal (1630)

*Chelsea had recorded five consecutive league wins at home against Arsenal before they were held to a goalless draw last season.

*Arsenal have failed to score in four of their last five league trips to Stamford Bridge.

*Striker Olivier Giroud scored for Arsenal in this fixture in February 2017. If he scores for Chelsea he will become only the second player after Cesc Fabregas to score in this Premier League fixture for both sides.

*Arsenal lost their opening weekend match against Manchester City but they have not lost both of their first two games in a season since 1992-93.

*Chelsea's new boss Maurizio Sarri will be on the touchline for his first league match at Stamford Bridge. He lost just four of his 57 home league games in his previous job at Napoli.

Sunday, Aug. 19

Burnley v Watford (1230)

*Sean Dyche's Burnley won both their league matches against Watford last season as they finished seventh in the standings.

*Burnley are looking for their first win in seven league matches after starting the season with a goalless draw at Southampton.

*Watford are winless in their last 12 league matches on the road, losing 11 of these games.

*Watford have failed to score in any of their seven away league matches under manager Javi Gracia, who joined the club in January.

*Roberto Pereyra has scored five goals for Watford in his last seven league matches, although all of these have come at Vicarage Road.

Manchester City v Huddersfield Town (1230)

*David Wagner's Huddersfield were the only team to stop Manchester City from scoring at home in the Premier League last season, drawing 0-0 in May.

*City have failed to find the net in their last four home league meetings with Huddersfield.

*City's all-time record scorer Sergio Aguero has netted 11 goals in his last seven league appearances at the Etihad Stadium.

*David Silva's next Premier League appearance will be his 250th for City. The Spaniard has contributed 48 goals while his 75 assists are more than any other player in the competition since his debut.

*City playmaker Kevin de Bruyne is a doubt for the weekend's clash after suffering a knee injury in training.

Brighton and Hove Albion v Manchester United (1500)

*Brighton have won their last two home games against United, with these games being spaced almost 36 years apart. (1-0 in Nov. 1982; 1-0 in May 2018)

*Brighton's Pascal Gross has three goals and three assists in his last seven league appearances at the Amex Stadium.

*United midfielder Paul Pogba has been involved in 26 league goals (12 goals and 14 assists) under manager Jose Mourinho, more than any other player at the club.

*United forward Romelu Lukaku has scored against 17 of the current 20 Premier League teams, with Brighton one of the three he is yet to score against (along with Cardiff City and Wolverhampton Wanderers)

*No United player had more shots on target (two) and more touches in the opposition box (three) than Luke Shaw in their league opener against Leicester City last Friday.

Monday, Aug. 20

Crystal Palace v Liverpool (1900)

*Roy Hodgson's Palace have won their last three league matches at Selhurst Park and can secure four straight wins for the first time in the competition.

*Wilfried Zaha, who signed a new five-year deal this week, needs one more goal to became Palace's all-time highest Premier League goalscorer.

*Liverpool winger Sadio Mane has scored five goals in seven league appearances against Palace, more than against any other side.

*The last time these two teams met on a Monday in the Premier League was in May 2014, when Palace came back from three goals down to rescue a 3-3 draw.

*Juergen Klopp's Liverpool thrashed West Ham United 4-0 in their opening match of the season, while Palace won 2-0 against Fulham.
