Bundesliga star sends clear Xabi Alonso message to Liverpool amid £42m transfer links
Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush has sent a clear message amid links of a potential transfer to Liverpool. The Reds have been credited with an interest in signing the Egypt international in recent months, with suggestions that he could be a target for 2025.
Reports have speculated that Liverpool have placed Marmoush on a transfer shortlist ahead of the January window. Frankfurt are reported to value Marmoush at between €40 million (£33 million) and €50 million (£42 million).
Marmoush is currently contracted at Frankfurt until 2027, but it seems the form of the 25-year-old has led to significant interest in his signature. It has been reported that the Bundesliga club, who signed Marmoush as a free agent in 2023, are keen to extend the player's deal to avoid Liverpool swooping in to complete a transfer.

Saturday saw Marmoush in action for Frankfurt in the Bundesliga clash against Bayer Leverkusen, who are managed by former Liverpool star Xabi Alonso. Marmoush opened the scoring for Frankfurt from the penalty spot before Robert Andrich equalised for the reigning German champions.
The spot-kick was Marmoush's 10th goal in all competitions so far for Frankfurt this season, which have come in the same number of appearances. Nine of those goals have come in the Bundesliga and he is already four ahead of Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane in the Golden Boot race.
Should Marmoush continue his form, then interest in the forward's signature is only likely to ramp up. It remains to be seen if Liverpool's interest is genuine, with reports from Germany speculating that they are monitoring the Egypt international at the present time.
Leverkusen are due to face Liverpool next month in the Champions League. The Reds will welcome their former player, Alonso, to the visitors dugout at Anfield on November 5 in their fourth league phase fixture of the competition.
