Steve Davis has not ruled out Harry Bunn having a future at Crewe when he returns to full fitness.

After joining the Railwaymen on loan from Manchester City last month, Bunn could be set to spend the rest of the season on the sidelines after suffering serious knee ligament damage in the 0-0 draw with npower League Two leaders Tranmere.

The 19-year-old has understandable fears over his future as he is out of contract at the Etihad Stadium when this season ends. But Alex boss Davis will leave the door open to Bunn, having been impressed during his curtailed stint at Gresty Road. When asked if a move for the player had been discussed, he said: "We haven't yet, but we will do."

Davis added: "Obviously his contract's up at the end of the season, so he could be out for eight, nine, 10 months.

"Certainly we'll have a look at him when he makes his way back and assess that see how he is.

"We certainly wouldn't write him off. He's only 19 so he's got plenty of years (ahead) - when you're young you heal a lot better, a lot quicker."
