The club have announced their capture of the 23-year-old, who joins Turf Moor on a four-year deal.
The player spent the last four seasons in Belgium where he racked up over 70 first team league appearances for Brugge.
Vitinho arrived in Europe from Brazilian side Cruzeiro back in 2018. What's more, he has represented his country at U20 level and was called up to Brazil's provisional 2018 World Cup squad. The player joins a Burnley side who are entering their first season since Premier League relegation. After putting pen to paper, Vitinho told the club's website: "I am very happy to be here. It's a big club and I've transferred here because the players, the coaches, and everyone else are going to help me.
"I think it's a big step for me. I can learn a lot here from the players, the group, and the coaches. Everything here is amazing. It's a big, big club." When asked about Burnley manager Vincent Kompany, the player said: "He is a big coach. He was a big player and when he called me, I didn't need to be asked twice because I wanted to come to Burnley and work with him. "He was a big factor [in why I came here]. He was a big player, he has a lot of experience, and now he's here I can learn a lot with him. He has told me that.
He added: "I think we're going to have an amazing season. You have to work a lot every day. "We have to be together because the fans are going to be helping us a lot. If the fans stay with us, they can know that we are going to give our all to fight. "Today is the first day for me here, but the group have worked a lot [over the summer] with Vincent and his staff to prepare [for Friday night's game against Huddersfield Town]."
