Burton manager Paul Peschisolido has turned down an approach by Bristol Rovers.
The Canadian, who has been at the Pirelli Stadium since 2009, is said to have "politely declined the opportunity to attend an interview at Bristol Rovers," according to a statement on the Burton's official website.
The statement continued by saying: "Although he is flattered to be considered for this position, he is looking forward to continuing to build upon an encouraging start to the season."
Rovers have been searching for a manager since the sacking of Paul Buckle on January 3. Buckle had left divisional rivals Torquay in the summer to take charge at the Memorial Stadium.
Peschisolido has been praised for the steady improvement at Burton, where he has led the club to within just one point and one place of the play-off places.
Paul Ince is the bookies` favourite to take over at Rovers, with former player Keith Curle also in the frame following his release from Queens Park Rangers.
