Burton have signed Lionel Ainsworth from Shrewsbury on a one-month loan deal.
Winger Ainsworth has made 64 appearances for the Shrews since arriving from Huddersfield in the summer of 2010, but has struggled to nail down a place in the first team this year - making just three appearances in 2012.
Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido is delighted with his latest acquisition, and he said: "He's a player who we've admired for quite some time. He's a bundle of energy and he's got plenty of pace."
He added: "He's got end-product and he weighs in with goals as well.
"He's still only 24 years old. He's somebody who we've looked at bringing in for quite some time but obviously, because of his quality, Shrewsbury were very reluctant to let him out.
"We're in a situation where we need a spark. We want to get out of the rut."
