Inverness boss Terry Butcher is not interested in the Ipswich job

Inverness manager Terry Butcher has dismissed reports linking him with a return to Ipswich as speculation.

Butcher's former club are looking for a manager after Paul Jewell left Portman Road by mutual consent with Ipswich bottom of the npower Championship.

Butcher has cemented his reputation in Scotland by re-establishing Inverness in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League and has led Caley Thistle to three consecutive wins, despite losing a number of his better players in the summer and seeing his budget cut.

That has seen his name linked with the Ipswich post but the former Motherwell and Brentford manager said: "It's just paper talk and speculation.

"It's one of my old clubs, the club I started playing football with.

"So it's nice to be mentioned in terms of that but that's all it is, just paper talk."
