The Champions League. It is the one trophy Arsenal fans covet the most - probably.

Of course, Gunners fans are dreaming of winning the Premier League this year, to end a 21-year drought, after two very near misses in the last two seasons. But the Champions League would be the big one.

Arsenal's record in Europe is pretty poor for a club of their stature. They won the Cup Winners' Cup in 1994. That's it. That's the full extent of silverware in European competition, unless you count the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1970, which, let's face it, not many people do.

The Gunners famously got to the final of the Champions League in 2005/06 and were it not for a red card for goalkeeper Jens Lehmann, may very well have gone on to lift the trophy.

Since then, they have been nowhere near the final, the closest to any European silverware being a fated Europa League final defeat to London rivals Chelsea in 2018/19. That year fierce rivals Tottenham were in the final of the Champions League, but thankfully for all supporters Spurs failed to win either.

Now it feels like Arsenal have a squad capable of challenging the best Europe has to offer and ahead of this season's Champions League starting, Mikel Arteta's men are third favourites for the trophy. It could be a magical season and in anticipation for it, we've got a print special for you.

In preparation for the all-new Champions League season, with 36 teams taking part in a new league phase, rather than a group stage, football.london have put together a bumper print special with features on their key men, each opponent they will face, and what the story of 2024/25 will look like.

Order your copy now and get it delivered direct to your door. On sale in selected independent retailers and supermarkets in London from Wednesday, September 11, 2024. Worldwide shipping available, postage and packaging applies.
