Details of the new Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War game will be revealed during a live event within Warzone today.

The upcoming game was officially confirmed by Activision on August 20, after weeks of teasing a new Cold War storyline.

Later today, fans will finally find out what's in store, with the reveal event hopefully going into more details about gameplay and firming up its rumoured November release date.

If you want to see the full worldwide reveal, you'll have to log into Warzone, Call of Duty's free battle royale mode, and clear a challenge first.

Before we get into how to watch along and what you need to do, make sure you've updated your game to the latest version, as of yesterday a new patch went live called Season 5 Reloaded, which brought with it some new game modes and additions.

How to watch Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War reveal in Warzone

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is scheduled for a “worldwide reveal”, taking place in Warzone on Wednesday, August 26, at 6:30pm BST.

To watch the reveal, it would appear you need to do two things:

First, you have to jump into a game of Warzone and complete the special Black Ops Cold War contract which is now live in the battle royale mode.

Contracts are missions you can find throughout a game in Warzone, which give you a random mission to complete from killing an enemy player to collecting supply caches for a reward.

Once that's done, all you need to do is make sure you're logged into Warzone at 6:30 pm BST and wait patiently for the trailer to go live.

It seems like you don't need to be in a Warzone match specifically to see the reveal and it is something you'll be able to watch from the Lobby.

While Activision hasn't confirmed or denied you must complete this contract to catch the reveal, it's better to be safe than sorry.

The reveal is expected to be a trailer showing off the first-ever gameplay of the upcoming title.

There's plenty to sink your teeth into in Warzone at the moment, too, as a new content update has gone live as of Tuesday, August 25.

Season 5 Reloaded has added a new operator and game mode to the playlist library called King Slayer, which is a larger-scale team deathmatch.

This event is actually a precursor to a bigger feast coming to Warzone - the Games of Summer event.
