Caoimhin Kelleher to Chelsea transfer truth revealed amid links with Liverpool goalkeeper
Chelsea have been linked with a transfer for Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, but football.london understands those reports are wide of the mark.
The Republic of Ireland international will have been at Anfield for 10 years by the end of the current season, beginning his Reds career in the youth team before making his competitive debut back in 2019.
However, he has consistently been second-choice behind Alisson Becker since then, despite performing admirably in stages over the last couple of years when the Brazil international has been absent through injury.

That has understandably created rumours about his future with Liverpool, as the 25-year-old is understood to want more first-team football having proved himself for Liverpool when called upon.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for the young star with their own goalkeeping unit not exactly excelling over the last few years. While Kepa Arrizabalaga has arguably not met his potential since joining the Blues and is now out on loan at Bournemouth, last season saw a battle for first choice between Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic.
However, Enzo Maresca's arrival in the summer brought about a change, with Petrovic loaned to Chelsea's sister-club Strasbourg, and Filip Jorgensen arriving from Valencia in a deal worth around £20million. The Blues also completed a deal for young Belgian keeper Mike Penders in a similarly-priced move from Genk, with the 19-year-old set to join up with the Blues next summer.
Sanchez has been Maresca's No.1 since the start of the season but there have been questions about the 27-year-old's performances, particularly after Chelsea's draw against Arsenal last time out. The goalkeeper was beaten from a narrow angle at his near post by Gabriel Martinelli, another questionable moment for the former Brighton star.
It would be understandable for links to Kelleher, given his expertise and hopes of increasing his playing time. However, football.london understand that Chelsea have a strong belief in Sanchez and are confident about the future with Jorgensen and Penders' arrivals in the summer.
