Caoimhin Kelleher transfer latest as new favourites for Liverpool goalkeeper emerge
Caoimhin Kelleher saving Kylian Mbappe's penalty in the Champions League has reportedly only increased the likelihood of him leaving Liverpool during the winter transfer window this January. The goalkeeper diving low to his left brilliantly preserved the Reds' clean sheet in their 2-0 win over Real Madrid at Anfield.
Kelleher, 26, stayed at the club this summer but remains their second-choice goalkeeper behind Alisson Becker under Arne Slot as he was for Jurgen Klopp. The unusual situation could become untenable next summer when Giorgi Mamardashvili arrives to join those two and Vitezslav Jaros.
It is exceedingly unlikely that Kelleher will want to deputise for anyone again next season. However, the Reds have rejected previous chances for the player to leave.

Nottingham Forest had a £15million offer turned down at the start of this year but returned in the summer with a £7million proposal that included their then-goalkeeper Matt Turner, which the Reds deemed derisory. Liverpool wants top dollar for Kelleher, but he has barely 18 months remaining on his contract despite his stock currently being at its highest-ever point.
Should the Republic of Ireland international push for a move, there are reputedly half-a-dozen suitors. TG Casino have Celtic installed as the favourites, dropping their odds from 11/2 to 5/1 overnight.
Their manager, Brendan Rodgers, was still in charge of the Reds when Kelleher signed in the summer of 2015 before being sacked and replaced by Klopp within months of that move. Wolverhampton Wanderers are the best-priced Premier League team at 6/1, with Championship table-toppers Leeds United third-favourites at 7/1.
Forest are next after them at 8/1, with Tottenham Hotspur, whose first-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario broke his ankle during their 4-0 win over Manchester City, at 9/1, as are Inter. Meanwhile, any other team outside of those half-a-dozen signing Kelleher has odds of 10/1.
