A CAR ended up on its side and its occupants ran away after two crashes which could be linked.

At around 10.49pm on Sunday, May 28, it was reported that a silver Toyota Yaris was found on its side in Castle Lane East with the occupants running off.

The vehicle had crashed into a low wall and a lamppost.

It is suspected that the vehicle had been driven from the direction of Royal Bournemouth Hospital going toward Iford.

Police also received a third-party report of a fail-to-stop crash in Castle Lane East nearer the hospital, involving a motorbike and vehicle.

Officers investigating the two crashes believe they may be connected and are appealing for anyone involved, any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Police Constable Jo Morgan, of Bournemouth Police, said: “It is possible that these two incidents are linked with the Toyota Yaris possibly being the vehicle involved in the motorbike collision.

“Unfortunately, we have currently no further details about the motorbike incident as it does not appear to have been reported to police by the rider.

“Therefore, I am very keen to speak to the motorbike rider in order to obtain any available information.

“I am also appealing for any witnesses to either collision or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to please come forward as you might have information that could help our investigations.”
