Manchester City drew Liverpool in the Carabao Cup draw fourth-round in the headline fixture of December’s games.

Just a day after teams return from the World Cup, Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp will go head-to-head once more at the Etihad Stadium.

Last season’s winners of course, Liverpool will look to defend their crown against the team who have dominated the competition in recent years.

Elsewhere, Manchester United will take on Vincent’s Kompany Burnley, while London’s only representative Charlton will entertain Brighton. Eddie Howe, meanwhile, will battle former club Bournemouth with in-form Newcastle.

Carabao Cup fourth-round draw in full:

Blackburn Rovers v Nottingham Forest

Newcastle United v Bournemouth

Manchester City v Liverpool

Manchester United v Burnley

MK Dons v Leicester City

Charlton Athletic v Brighton

The Carabao Cup fourth-round matches will take place on the week commencing December 19.

That is just a day after the World Cup final in Qatar, so Premier League sides can be expected to field significantly weakened teams.
